What do you mean by Express Entry?
Express Entry is an immigration program that was introduced on January 1, 2015, by the government of Canada. Through this process, skilled and talented candidates are selected for Canada immigration. Or in other words, Express Entry is a way through which the applicants can apply for a Canada PR visa. A Canada PR visa is a permanent residency visa which allows a person to live in Canada for the next 5 years. Most of the people all over the world choose Canada immigration and the most common way used for Canada immigration is Express Entry Program.
Express entry program is an electronic selection system for Canadian immigration that is designed to select skilled workers based on their skills and ability to contribute to Canada’s economy. This selection process is completely an electronic process that involves the federal government, provincial government, and the Canadian employers. This program manages the applications of applicants through three different immigration programs.
The Express Entry System manages three different immigration programs mentioned below:
Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
Every month, the government of Canada issues an invitation to apply (ITAs) through the draws named as Express Entry Draw. There are two Express Entry draws released by the government of Canada in a month through which they issue invitations to apply to the candidates who qualify for Express Entry Program.
What is an Invitation to apply or ITAs?
An Invitation to apply or ITA is an auto-generated correspondence issued to Express Entry candidates through their online account. An ITA is issued to candidates who rank the highest in a round of invitations, based on their score in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). If a person receives an Invitation to apply or ITA doesn’t mean he or she will surely get a Canada PR visa. An ITA simply means he or she has been invited to Canada by the government of Canada.
Candidates who have a provincial or territorial nomination certificate are awarded an additional 600 points in the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score and are normally invited to apply at the next round of invitations to which they are eligible.
When there is a general round of invitations, and a candidate appears eligible for multiple classes (e.g., the federal skilled worker class and the Canadian experience class), the system automatically invites the candidate to apply under one of the classes in the following order:
-
provincial nominee class (PNC)
-
Canadian experience class (CEC)
-
federal skilled worker class (FSWC)
-
federal skilled trades class (FSTC)
