General Point Test System
An eligible candidate who applied under General Point based test needs to score minimum qualifying marks in order to qualify for QMAS visa. This test has five point-scoring factors. Based on these factors, the applicants have rewarded points.
Based on these points’ applicants are rewarded ranks if they score more than minimum passing marks.

Prevailing Minimum Passing Mark
Prevailing Minimum Passing Mark is set for General Point based test. That is 80. That means the applicants need to score at least 80 in order to qualify for QMAS visa. The applicants whose score is less than 80 are not eligible for this visa as they do not qualify the General Point based test.
Achievement-based Points Test
There are two points-based tests namely General points test and Achievement-based points test. The applicants are allowed to choose the test under which they want to apply for.
Achievement-based points test has very high requirements to meet. There are only two criteria to meet. An applicant needs to meet any one of the two criteria in order to qualify for the QMAS visa. Meeting any one of the requirement will reward 195 points to the candidates. Those two criteria are:
- The applicants must have received an award of exceptional achievement for example Olympic medals, Nobel prize, national/international awards or
- The applicant has an option to show that his or her work has been acknowledged by his or her peers or has contributed significantly to the development of his/her field, for example, lifetime achievement award from industry.
