Canada Express Entry Draw With 486 CRS Score
The year, 2020 saw 107, 350 invitations issued to Express Entry Candidates. On December, 23 the cutoff score for Express Entry dipped slightly from the previous two draws. Canada invited 5000 candidates with a CRS- Comprehensive Ranking System score of at least 468. The latest Express draw and the new CRS requirement is slightly lower than the previous draw on December 9, when candidates needed a score of 469.
With the latest draw, the total number of invitations to apply, this year is 107,350, a high-record number of invitations. Today`s draw was the fourth consecutive, round to issued 5000 invitations since September 2, for permanent residency.
Due to the unexpected Coronavirus, the IRCC conducted specific draws. The government of Canada has taken steps to facilitate the process for most of the program draws and select skilled workers for permanent residence. Express Entry program is the flagship for Canadian Immigration. It has three streams– Skilled Worker Program, the Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.
Interest applicants from Express Entry and Provincial Nominee Program, are given scored based on different human capital factors such as age, educational qualification, work experience, language proficiency in French or English. The one scoring the highest are received an Invitation to apply for Canadian citizenship.
In any case, there is a tie between candidates; the IRCC applies the tie-breaking rule. If the candidate has a score of 469 or more, they need to submit the Express Entry profile before June 4, 2020. With the highest number of invitations issued and Canada announced the high admission to targets with Express Entry system and Provincial Nominee Program, it has set a record of the highest number of invitation issued since 2015.
In recent draws, the Express Entry aligned with PNP has been active with its streams on the recent week. Provinces like Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Prince Edward Island have been active in the last four weeks. Express Entry candidates with a provincial nomination are awarded an extra 600 CRS score and are effectively guaranteed an ITA from the IRCC.
The 600 CRS score is valuable for candidates who have a lower CRS score and have to make it for the next Express Entry draw.

- Zahir is 29 years old, who has never lived or worked in Canada. He holds a bachelor’s degree and is working as a graphic designer for three years. He has also advanced in the language, French. He has his brother living in Canada and, his CRS score of 471 is high enough to obtain an ITA from the latest Express draw.
- Arjun is 29 years old, who has never lived or studied in Canada. He holds a master’s degree and is presently working as a management consultant for four years. He gave his IELTS exam and scored 8 in listening, 7.5 in speaking, and 7 in reading and writing. His CRS score is 472 for the December 23 Express Entry draw.
