New Manitoba’s Draw issued 450 invitations to skilled workers, international graduates
On June 20, 2019, the Canadian province Manitoba released its Expression of Interest (EOI) draw in which it issued 450 invitations or Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to candidates of Skilled Workers in Manitoba, Skilled Workers Overseas and International Education streams. Of the total LAAs issued, 323 went to candidates of Skilled Workers Overseas, 101 went to candidates of Skilled Workers in Manitoba, and remaining 26 went to candidates of International Education Stream.
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is one of the most popular immigration streams enabling foreign nationals to apply for Permanent residence. It targets graduates, skilled individuals, entrepreneurs, business persons, and all who can contribute to the developing economy of the province.
Skilled Workers in Manitoba:
Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream is a sub-category of MPNP’s skilled worker stream. It eases the entry of currently working temporary foreign workers and international graduates in Manitoba with previous work experience for a permanent, full-time job in the province.
Skilled worker overseas stream:
It received Expressions of Interest (EOI) from eligible candidates living outside Canada. Requirements for skilled worker overseas include,
- Connections in Manitoba like family members, friends, or possess some previous education or work experience in Manitoba.
- Minimum language proficiency of CLB/NCLC 5 unless work experience is primarily in a regulated occupation (minimum CLB/NCLC 7) or a compulsory trade (CLB/NCLC 6)
In addition to this, selection for this stream can be made on an invitation through MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives.
In the draw, 35 LAAs of Skilled Workers Overseas get invited directly through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative. In this draw, the lowest score for Strategic Recruitment Initiative candidates was 704
MPNP’s International Education Stream:
It received Expressions of Interest (EOI) from eligible international graduates who have completed education from Manitoba post-secondary institutions.
In the draw of June 20, 2019, 133 invitations went to express entry candidates which help them to get an additional of 600 points towards their express entry CRS score. Minimum requirements for Express entry candidates include
- profile in Federal Express entry system
- Job seeker validation code
- Work experience in any of the occupation listed in Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations List.
In the previous draw held on June 07, 2019, the lowest score for Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream was 548 only; however, in this draw, it dropped to 542. Similarly, the lowest score for the Skilled Worker Overseas stream was 701; however, in this draw, it dropped to 599.
So if you want to consider your profile for MPNP’s nomination through these streams, then submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the MPNP. Based on your education, work experience, language proficiency, connections in Manitoba and more, you will get the rank in the pool of candidates. Only higher-scoring candidates receive LAAs through regular draws.
