5000 CEC Candidates Invited in Express Entry Draw
IRCC continues to welcome immigrants for Canadian permanent residents through Express Enter.
Canada invited 5000 eligible CEC-Canadian Experience Class and have a score of at least 449 to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) on March 18. The eligible skills CEC candidates should have is a one-year full-time work experience along with language proficiency.
This draw is for candidates of a minimum score of 449 who have submitted their Express Entry profile before February 19, 2021, UTC, to avoid the tie-break rule.
The CEC draw proves that the IRCC is serious in prioritizing immigrants even though there are travel restrictions in places. The federal government opts to focus on the Express Entry candidates who already reside in the country to meet its requirements.
The Provincial Nominee Program is another likely pathway through which immigrants settle in the country. The previous CEC draw was on February 13, inviting 27,332 single-eligible CEC candidates from the pool.
To meet the local labour requirements and increase economic growth, Canada commits to bringing 401,000 newcomers in 2021. Out of the total, 108,500 will come through the Express Entry Program. Express Entry is the principal applicant for Canada immigration.
The total number of ITAs issued in 2021so far is 43,840.
Who is invited? – A hypothetical example.
Alicia is 32 years old married to Philip. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Canada and works as a sales manager in Canada. Her IELTS scores are CLB 8 in listening and reading and 7.5 in speaking and writing. Philips holds a bachelor’s degree and has efficiency in English. They enter the pool with Alicia being the principal applicant and with a CRS score of 453, high enough to obtain an ITA in the draw.
