Alberta invites 3,357 Express Entry candidates with CRS scores as low as 300 to apply for provincial nomination
Alberta has released a total of 14 draws through its Express Entry-linked immigration stream so far in 2019. After its last 14th draw held on May 02, 2019, the total number of invitations to apply for provincial nomination has reached 3,357. The largest Alberta Express Entry draw held on March 5 in which a total of 473 invitations or Notifications of Interest (NOI) went to Express Entry candidates.
The Alberta Express Entry Stream invites only those immigration candidates who have registered in the express entry pool and meet specified eligibility requirements for provincial nomination. So, if you want to consider your profile for the nomination, you need to qualify the eligibility requirements for any of the three immigration categories of Express entry program including, the Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.
In the express entry pool, profiles are evaluated and receive CRS score based on age, work experience, education, language proficiency and more. Higher-scoring candidates in the pool get nominated by the province as well as receive an additional of 600 points towards express entry score which effectively guaranteeing an invite for Canadian PR.
Out of 14 draws, three issued invites for the lowest CRS score of 300 which is significantly lower than that of drawn through Federal Express Entry draw so far in 2019. And, the highest CRS score recorded through Alberta’s Express entry draw was 400.

Unlike Federal express entry program, cut off for AIPP’s draw is comparatively lower to ease the entry of a large number of applicants having lower CRS score for federal and other provincial programs. In fact, Alberta’s new immigration proposal will soon target 40,000 newcomers to its rural communities.
So, all candidates who have scored more than lowest CRS score drawn through the draw and have work experience in occupations which is in demand in the province among other criteria can expect nomination through Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AIPP).
Moreover, it is worth noting here that a job offer or previous work in Alberta is not necessary to be eligible for AINP. The AINP says candidates with a job offer and/or past work experience in Alberta, a degree from a Canadian institution and/or a parent, child or sibling, who is already living in Alberta, may get some priority for a provincial nomination.
