Alberta’s Express Entry Draws are released for provincial nomination
Recently, the government of the province of Alberta provided detail on its two express entry draws held on July 31, 2019, and August 07, 2019. In total, Alberta issued 354 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to Express Entry candidates seeking opportunity in the province of Alberta. Of which, 319 Notifications of Interest (NOI) went to candidates on July 31, and remaining 35 NOIs sent out one week later, on August 07. After these draws, the number of express entry candidates who received NOIs through 27 Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)’s express entry program has reached 5,382
AINP has become one of the most popular Provincial Nominee Programs in Canada in a short span of time. It manages the entry of skilled and experienced candidates to meet the demands of the province’s market.
So, all interested candidates who want to consider their profiles for AINP’s provincial nomination through its express entry-linked stream need to apply online for application for Express entry pool. Based on selection factors like age, work experience, education, language proficiency in English or French, adaptability and arranged employment candidates receive their respective Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
However, only higher-scoring candidates are fortunate to get the invitation to apply for PR in Canada through regular draws. After getting the provincial nomination, they receive an additional 600 points toward their Express entry score.
As compared to Federal Express entry draw, the cut-off drawn through the Alberta’s Express entry draw is relatively very low. For the draw held on July 31, the cut-off score was 400; whereas, for the draw held on August 07, the cut off was 352. In the last Alberta’s draw for express entry candidates drawn on July 24, the minimum cut-off was 303.
On July 05, 2019, Alberta Express entry draw has witnessed its highest CRS score of 425 so far in 2019; this was comparatively lower than the lowest cut-off score of 438 in all federal Express Entry draw so far in 2019.
To be eligible for this draw, candidates must have a profile in Express Entry pool with a minimum CRS score. In addition to this, they must be working in an occupation which supports “Alberta’s economic development and diversification priorities.” The AINP give priority to candidates having
- work experience in occupation that supports the province’s economic development;
- a degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution along with a valid job offer; or
- a parent, child or sibling living in Alberta
On the contrary, some factors may decrease chances of receiving an invitation from Alberta, such as:
- The Express Entry expiry date is within three months of the draw
- Certain occupations which are enlisted in the Alberta Opportunity Stream Ineligible Occupations list
