Dubai Golden Card For Permanent Visa Residents
May 21, 2019, the UAE government made a big announcement on the introduction of “Golden Card” to grant the permanent residency to exceptional and talented foreign investors, doctors, engineers, scientists, artists and more who can contribute positively to the growth of UAE. Since few past years, the UAE Cabinet has been trying hard to enforce long term visa plans besides its renewable visas, valid for two or three years only. However, last year, the UAE government proposed its investors or entrepreneur visa and received 6k applications for the same. And now, The Golden card permanent residency set out on May 21, goes a step beyond this.
The Golden visa will successfully help the government in targeting foreign nationals to look at Dubai as a home instead of a temporary plan. Moreover, Spouse and children of the cardholder can also luxuriate in the benefits of the permanent residency to ensure cohesive social ties.
The validity period for the Golden Card PR visa is 5 or 10 years according to its categories. UAE’s Director-General for Foreigners Affairs and Ports said general investors, entrepreneurs and talented professionals such as doctors, researchers and innovators will grant the validity of 10-years; whereas, real estate investors and outstanding foreign students will receive the visa for five years only
The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) will soon disclose the exact criteria and essential details regarding the PR in public. Till now, according to the UAE government, it is expected to issue a total of 6800 Golden cards to qualified professionals to pursue their dreams and to settle there for a better lifestyle.
Sheikh Mohammad, Prime Minister of Dubai said “The first group of 6,800 investors from over 70 countries with investments of worth 100 billion dirhams (USD 27 billion) was being given permanent residency”
