Express entry has released its largest draw with 3,600 invitations since January
On July 10, 2019, the Federal government of Canada issued 3,600 invitations to Express Entry candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence. It has been the largest Express Entry draw since January 2019. After the draw, the total number of ITAs issued so far this year has reached 45,400, which is approximately half of ITAs issued in 2018, which was 89,800.
Federal express entry program is one of the most popular immigration programs to manage the applications of skilled workers of different nationalities. It has three sub-categories which include Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class. It is a point-based immigration system which evaluates profiles on credentials like age, education, work experience and language proficiency. Moreover, the job offer is not mandatory for an applicant to become eligible for the Express entry system.
In the previous draw held on June 26, 2019, the minimum cut-off was 462; however, in this draw, the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for today’s draw dropped to 460. Since May 29, this was the third consecutive time when the minimum cut-off score dropped down.
The increase or decrease of a minimum cut-off depends on the time gap between two consecutive draws. On increasing the time-gap between the draws, the Express Entry pool receives more number of applications from higher-scoring candidates which ultimately leads to the raising of the cut-off score in the coming draws. The last three draws occurred within the time gap of a two-week so; the cut-off score has been decreasing in each one, from 465 to 462 and now to 460.
Moreover, the tie-break used in today’s draw by IRCC was June 11, 2019, at 12:27:18 UTC. It means that all those candidates who received at least CRS score of 460 and entered their profile in the Express Entry pool before this mentioned date and time are eligible to receive an ITA through the draw.
This larger draw size reflects the higher admissions targets for both 2019 and 2020. So this is the right time to apply for PR through the Express entry system. If you want to consider your profile for Express Entry pool, you need to first check your eligibility. On being eligible, create your profile for Express Entry pool.
Based on factors like age, work experience, education, proficiency in English or French, connections in Canada and more, your profile gets CRS score. In case you don’t get sufficient score for EE draw, then nomination from Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) may add additional 600 points in your basket.
