Latest two Alberta Express Entry draws with CRS scores as low as 303
Recently, the government of the province of Alberta provided detail on its two express entry draws held on July 17, 2019, and July 24, 2019. In total, Alberta issued 471 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to Express Entry candidates seeking opportunity in the province of Alberta. Of which, 251 Notifications of Interest (NOI) went to candidates on July 17, and 220 NOIs sent out one week later, on July 24. After these draws, the number of express entry candidates who received NOIs through Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)’s express entry program has reached 5,063.
AINP has become one of the most popular Provincial Nominee Programs in Canada in a short span of time. It manages the entry of skilled and experienced candidates to meet the demands of the province’s market.
“Alberta was late to participate in Express Entry but now has conducted 26 draws this year to help address its growing labour market needs,” said David Cohen, senior partner with the Campbell, Cohen Canadian immigration law firm in Montreal.
So, all interested candidates who want to consider their profiles for AINP’s provincial nomination through its express entry-linked stream need to apply online for application for Express Entry pool. Based on selection factors like age, work experience, education, language proficiency in English or French, adaptability and arranged employment candidates receive their respective Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
However, only higher-scoring candidates are fortunate to get the invitation to apply for PR in Canada through regular draws. After getting the provincial nomination, they receive an additional 600 points toward their Express Entry score.
As compared to Federal Express entry draw, the cut-off drawn through the Alberta’s Express entry draw is relatively very low. For the draw held on July 17, the cut-off score was 400; whereas, for the draw held on July 24, the cut off was 303.
On July 05, 2019, Alberta Express entry draw has witnessed its highest CRS score of 425 so far in 2019, which was comparatively lower than the lowest cut-off score of 438 in all federal Express Entry draw so far in 2019.
To be eligible for this draw, candidates must have a profile in Express Entry pool with a minimum CRS score. In addition to this, they must be working in an occupation which supports “Alberta’s economic development and diversification priorities.” The AINP give priority to candidates having
- a job offer and/or work experience in Alberta;
