Quebec issues first invitations to candidates of QSWP with Arrima profiles
On July 04, 2019, the provincial government of Quebec has started issuing its first round of invitations to candidates of Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) with Arrima profiles through mails. Invited candidates need to submit a complete application for a Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de sélection du Québec, or CSQ) within 60 days.
In September 2018, the Arrima immigration application management system was introduced to manage Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles for the QSWP. It targets to ease the entry of immigration candidates to the specific labor needs of employers around the province.
In the first round of invitation through Arrima, priority was given to candidates either having a validated job offer with a Quebec employer or meet one of the following conditions:
- Living in the province as a temporary resident at the time of application and had application in the pool of candidates for a Quebec Selection Certificate terminated on June 16, 2019, or
- Working or studying in the province at the time of application and had application for a Quebec Selection Certificate terminated on June 16, 2019,
On June 16, 2019, the government of Quebec had brought new reforms to Quebec’s immigration laws in which it cancelled around 16,000 pending applications to the QSWP. All the applications which got cancelled had been filed prior to the introduction of Arrima.
So, the Candidates who fall into either prioritized groups and have not yet created an Arrima profile can create one until December 16, 2019. Moreover, MIDI confirmed that other rounds of invitation will conduct between now and January 16, 2020, for the prioritized candidates described above.
