Second Ontario’s Tech Draw with CRS score as low as 435
On August 1, 2019, the Canadian province of Ontario released its second Tech Draw and issued 1,773 invitations to Express Entry candidates with work experience in six tech occupations. After this draw, the total of 3,396 invitations has issued for provincial nomination within the past 20 days. All the candidates who have created express entry profiles between August 1, 2018, and August 1, 2019, and awarded Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score as low as 435 received the invitation through the draw. This score was lower than the minimum cut-off drawn through the previous Ontario Tech draw.

So, in the month of July, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) decided to conduct its tech draw for express entry candidates to meet the needs of the tech sector.
OINP’s express-entry linked Human Capital Priorities immigration stream conduct these draws and select candidates from the Express Entry pool. Application from three economic immigration categories, Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Trades Worker Class, and Canadian Experience Class get collected in the pool for Canada PR.
Eligibility for Ontario’s Tech draw:
An applicant must have an express entry profile in any of three economic categories of the Federal Express entry system
He/she must have at least one year of continuous paid full-time work experience (or the equivalent in paid part-time work) in one of the following six tech occupations:
- Software engineers and designers (NOC 2173)
- Computer programmers and interactive media developers (NOC 2174)
- Computer engineers (NOC 2147)
- Web designers and developers (NOC 2175)
- Database analysts and data administrators (NOC 2172)
- Computer and information systems managers (NOC 0213)
He/she must qualify the minimum Cut-off for the draw
Note: There is no minimum requirement for the job offer for Ontario’s Tech draw
