Saskatchewan invites Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand candidates

How to apply for SINP?
Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is a way for immigration to Canada. The Saskatchewan has issued its second invitations to Saskatchewan immigration candidates through the New Expression of Interest (EOI) system that held on September 27. A total of 438 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination were issued in this second round of invitation.
In this round of invitation, out of 438 invitations to apply, 225 invitations were issued to candidates under the program’s Express Entry sub-category and the rest 213 invitations were issued to candidates in the Occupations In-Demand sub-category.
The minimum score fixed in this draw was 65 points. On the other hand, the score for Occupations In-demand candidates was 66. Both the subcategories have similar eligibility requirements and both do not require a Canadian job offer to in order to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). The Express Entry sub-category is only for all those candidates who are eligible to apply for the same and whose Federal Express Entry profile have been submitted on the other the Occupations In-Demand category is open to eligible candidates whose Express Entry profile have not been submitted
The candidates who have received an invitation to apply under any sub-category can submit a complete provincial nomination application to the Government of Saskatchewan. Express Entry candidates will get an additional 600 points for their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score, in the federal government’s Express Entry selection system. This means these candidates will be at a good place to obtain an Invitation to Apply in a coming federal draw.
The candidates who did not have a profile in Canada’s Express Entry pool are also invited through its Occupation In-Demand sub-category. These Occupation In-Demand candidates after receiving a nomination can apply for Canadian permanent residence.
EOI System
Earlier there was an application process that worked on the basis of first come, first served. Later on, this system was replaced by the EOI system for both the International Skilled Worker categories
For each category, a candidate is required to score minimum 60 points out of 100 points in order to become eligible for immigration to Saskatchewan in any category. These points are awarded on the basis of the following factors:
- Education and training
- Skilled work experience
- Language ability
- Age
- Connections and adaptability to Saskatchewan labour market.
Miguel is 36, has an Adequate Intermediate English language proficiency (CLB 7) and has been working as an Agricultural specialist for five (5) years. He holds a Bachelor’s degree and has never worked or studied in Canada. Miguel has a sister living in Saskatchewan. Miguel has a profile in Canada’s federal Express Entry pool with a CRS score of 313.
Miguel also registered an EOI profile with the SINP under the Express Entry sub-category and obtained a score of 78, which would have been sufficient for an invitation to apply for provincial nomination.
If approved for a provincial nomination certificate, Miguel’s Express Entry CRS score will increase to 913, putting him at the front of the line for an ITA in a subsequent Express Entry Draw.
