Alberta’s Express Entry Stream Issued Invitations With CRS Score Of 300
The government of the province of Alberta provided details on its fourth express entry draw held on February 20, 2020, in which it issued 150 invitations with Comprehensive Ranking System scores as low as 300. After this draw, Alberta has issued a total of 651 invitations to Express Entry candidates so far in 2020.
Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) is one of the most popular Provincial Nominee Programs in Canada in a short span of time. It manages the entry of skilled and experienced candidates to meet the demands of the province’s market.
So, all interested candidates who want to consider their profiles for AINP’s provincial nomination through its express entry-linked stream need to apply online for application for Express entry pool. Canada Express Entry manages applications for Canada PR through its three main economic immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.
Based on selection factors like age, work experience, education, language proficiency in English or French, adaptability and arranged employment candidates receive their respective Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
However, only higher-scoring candidates are fortunate to get the invitation to apply for PR in Canada through regular draws. After getting the provincial nomination, they receive an additional 600 points toward their Express entry score.
Scores drawn in Alberta’s draw are significantly lower than the lowest cut-off score of Federal Express entry draws. For instance, the minimum CRS score in the latest Express entry draw, held on March 04, 2020 was 471.
As such there is no list of eligible occupations in Alberta; however, a candidate must have work experience in an occupation that supports “economic development and diversification priorities” of the province.
The AINP give priority to candidates having
- a job offer and/or work experience in Alberta
- a degree from a Canadian post-secondary institution along with a valid job offer; or
- a parent, child or sibling living in Alberta
On the contrary, some factors may decrease chances of receiving an invitation from Alberta, such as:
- The Express Entry expiry date is within three months of the draw
- Certain occupations which are enlisted in the Alberta Opportunity Stream Ineligible Occupations list
