Canada Invites 27,332 Immigrants in a Historic Express Entry Draw
Unexpectedly, Canada invited more than tens of thousands of candidates in a single largest draw. In the latest Express Entry draw, Canada invited 27,332 invitations for permanent residency. It is the highest number of nominations issued in a single ever draw.
On February 13, 2021, the IRCC- Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada invited candidates from CEC- Canadian Experience Class. The CRS score for the draw is 75- the lowest CRS score requirement for a large number of the invitations.
It is huge. The last time Express Entry draw issued nominations was 5,000 for four consecutive draws between November 18 and December 23. Before the date, the lowest CRS score requirement was 199 on May 16, 2017, which invited only candidates from the Skilled Worker Program.
The total number of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued this week for Express Entry stands at 27, 986. The RCC applies the tie-breaking rule with a minimum score of 75 is to submit their profiles before September 12, 2020.
IRCC made a commitment with the New Immigration Plan of 201-2023 for inviting 401,000 fresh immigrants in 2021.
Out of the total, 108, 500 are coming through the Express Entry. The RCC will continue to hold draws in favour of Express Entry candidates in the foresee future. The unprecedented draw goes to show the determination and commitment to invite candidates at the beginning of this year so, it can keep inviting more candidates soon for permanent residency.
The Immigration Minister of Canada also stresses to transit more temporary residents to permanent residents. Express Entry is the principal applicant that manages three streams for permanent residency. They are the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class. Candidates are given points based on different scores. Those with a provincial nomination receive an additional 600 points towards the total CRS scores. The IRCC will continue to hold draws for Express Entry applications and other streams and programs from abroad.
Who is invited? – A hypothetical example.
Ruhi is married to Pragya. Ruhi is 30 years old, has a bachelor’s degree, and is working as a restaurant manager in Canada. Pinky is a 33-year-old working as an account for one year in Canada. Both of them gave the IELTS exam and scored CLB 6 in all the four segments, respectively. They entered the Express Entry pool with Ruhi being the principal applicant. Their CRS score is 437, high enough for them to receive the ITA in the draw held today.

Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this website. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and visual appeal. I must say you have done a amazing job with this. In addition, the blog loads super fast for me on Internet explorer. Excellent Blog!
