Canada makes a budget of $10 million to help new comers in approaching market easily and quickly
Canada is committing to help internationally trained newcomers in finding new jobs with funding of around $10 million under its Foreign Credential Recognition Program. It will increase the entry of skilled workers in the market as well as keep well-paying jobs for them.
The Foreign Credential Recognition (FCR) program targets Canada provinces, territories, non-profit agencies, regulatory bodies and Canadian employers for implementing and funding new programs and employment support so that skilled workers coming from outside Canada can easily get suitable employment there.
Under this new budget, amount of $ 800,000 will be given to each of 15 projects, designed for providing job support to eligible immigrants as well as to facilitate the working of the Foreign Credential Recognition (FCR) program.
Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) said the government is looking for “innovative and collaborative concepts from stakeholders that address specific barriers to the integration of highly skilled newcomers into the Canadian labor market.”
Moreover, Canada’s Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labor, Patty Hajdu, said in the news release, issued by ESDC “Helping newcomers obtain assistance to have their foreign credentials recognized will allow them to join the Canadian workforce faster. Through this call for concepts, we are giving more newcomers a fair chance at success in Canada.”
ESDC clearly indicates that this is an open concept, any eligible stakeholder, regulatory bodies, professional association, union and more involved in Foreign Recognition Credential to bring off highly skilled newcomers in the job market.
Concept submissions are due by April 11, 2019. So, interested people can apply for the same before the scheduled date. Selected candidates will receive an invite to submit a full project proposal.
