Claresholm, Alberta starts accepting applications for RNIP
On February 11, 2020, Claresholm, a town in Alberta became the fifth community to start accepting applications from foreign nationals through the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) for Canadian permanent residence. It will recommend the entry up to 20 immigrants along with their families for permanent residence status in 2020.
The government launched the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) to spread the benefits of economic immigration to smaller communities of the country. RNIP is a community-driven program that allows the entry of skilled foreign workers who are interested in living in one of its participating communities. In total it has 11 participating communities, and candidates need a valid job offer for a full-time permanent job in any of the following participating communities.
- Brandon, Manitoba
- Altona/Rhineland, Manitoba
- Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
- Vernon, B.C.
- North Bay, Ontario
- Sudbury, Ontario
- Timmins, Ontario
- Thunder Bay, Ontario
- Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan
- Claresholm, Alberta
- West Kootenay (Trail, Castlegar, Rossland, Nelson), British Columbia
Besides, Claresholm, the following is the list of communities that are now accepting applications through RNIP:
- Brandon, Manitoba
- Altona/Rhineland, Manitoba
- Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario
- Vernon, B.C.
Applying for permanent residence through Claresholm
A candidate first needs to fulfill the federal eligibility requirements to qualify for the RNIP in Claresholm including a minimum of one year of eligible work experience, language skills, education requirements, and enough funds and more.
After meeting federal criteria, candidates must complete their profiles on the webpage of the participating community. Moreover, they can apply for jobs listed in Claresholm RINP Portal; however, only three active applications are allowed at a single time. For that, they can withdraw their candidacy from applied position anytime for a better opportunity.
Upon receiving a job offer, the Claresholm RNIP recommends them for permanent residence in Canada. However, they need to apply for a Canada work permit while their PR applications are being processed.
