Express Entry: Another 5,000 invited in new draw
With the latest draw, Canada surpasses 100,000 new ITAs issued in 2020, an enormous number. In a new Express Entry draw on December 9, Canada invited 5,000 immigration candidates for permanent resident. They required a CRS-Comprehensive Ranking System score of 469 to qualify for the draw.
The latest draw brings the total number of ITAs issued in 2020, to 102,350, a record-breaking number. Express Entry is Canada`s immigration pathway system, which consists of three programs- the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and the Canadian Experience Class.
In this program, candidates are assessed based on human capital factors such as age, education qualification, work experience, language proficiency, etc. The one scoring the highest will receive the Invitation to Apply (ITAs) for permanent residents. The number of ITAs issued this year is the highest. On November 18, the number of ITAs issued was 5,000. It is the first time; the number of ITAs issued has surpassed 100,000.
It is expected that Canada will be welcoming over 400,000 new immigrants in 2021, most of them coming through the Express Entry System Program.
