Express entry draw issued 3,350 invitations to apply for Canadian PR
On May 29, 2019, the Canadian government released its Express entry draw and issued invites to 3,350 candidates to apply for Canadian PR. After the draw, the total number of ITAs issued so far this year has reached to 35,100.
Federal express entry program is one of the most popular immigration programs to manage the applications of skilled workers of different nationalities. It has three sub-categories which include Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.
In general, the Express entry for all its categories held after every two weeks. However, Since May 01, 2019, this Express entry draw was the first to issue invitations to all of its three economic categories.
The last Express entry draw held on May 15, issued 500 invites only to candidates of Federal Skilled Trades Class for a minimum cut off of 332. Due to this, the time gap of nearly one month occurred between two consecutive Express entry draws for all of its programs. As a result, the cut-off for this draw went up. The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for today’s draw was 470. On increasing the time-gap between the draws, the Express Entry pool receives more number of applications from higher-scoring candidates which ultimately leads to the raising of the cut-off score in the coming draws.
Moreover, the tie-break used in today’s draw by IRCC was May 23, 2019, at 10:18:56 UTC. It means that all those candidates who received at least CRS score of 470 and entered their profile in the Express Entry pool before this mentioned date and time are eligible to receive an ITA through the draw.
If you want to consider your profile for Express entry pool, you need to first check your eligibility. On being eligible, create your profile for Express entry pool. Based on factors like age, work experience, education, proficiency in English or French, connections in Canada and more, your profile gets CRS score. In case you don’t get sufficient score for EE draw, then nomination from Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) may add additional 600 points in your basket.
So, it is worth noting here that this is the right time to apply for Express entry as the Canadian government has decided to increase admissions under all three categories of the Express Entry system. The admissions target for new Permanent residents through Express Entry system is 81,400 in 2019 which is an increase of 6,500 admissions over 2018’s target, and it may likely to increase in years 2020 and 2021.
