How to apply for Express Entry?
Number of ITAs issued in Q3 reached 22,800 and new monthly records were set for July and September
IRCC issued the highest number of invitations to apply or ITAs for Canadian permanent residence over the months of July, August and September. Total Number of ITAs issued in Quarter 3rd of the year 2018 has reached to 22,800. Also, new monthly records were set for July and September.
The process through which a skilled applicant can apply for Canadian permanent resident visa is Express Entry Program. This program was introduced in 2015. Through this process, skilled and talented candidates are selected for immigration to Canada. This selection process is completely an electronic process that involves the federal government, provincial government, and the Canadian employers. Express entry manages those applications of eligible candidates through three economic immigration programs mentioned below:
Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
Canadian Experience Class (CEC)

In all the three programs, applicants are given a comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score. Based on their CRS score, invitations to apply or ITAs are sent to highest ranked candidates through Express Entry draws held every month.
Monthly ITAs records set in July, September
Clearly, the number of ITAs issued by IRCC in the third quarter is highest in 2018. That is Express Entry issued 22,800 ITAs in the third quarter of 2018.
Large draws
As shown, the number of ITAs issued in the months of 2018 is greater than the ITAs issued in the months of 2017. This trend was established in December 2017, when IRCC issued 2,750 ITAs in each of the two Express Entry draws held that month and in each of the two draws held in January 2018.
CRS minimums: 440 to 445
The minimum comprehensive ranking system (CRS) score fixed by IRCC in the express entry for the year 2018 almost rotated from 440 to 445. The minimum CRS ranged from a high of 445 to a low of 440 — the lowest minimum score of 2018.

Will 2018 surpass 2017’s ITA record?
Whether the record of total number of ITAs issued in 2018 will surpass the record of 2017 is still a question. Everything depends on the last three months of the year 2018. The 22,800 ITAs issued in July, August and September brought the number of ITAs issued over the first three quarters of 2018 to 62,500. IRCC had issued a total of 69,420 ITAs in the year 2017.
The Government of Canada has a target of 74,900 new admissions for 2018 and 81,400 for 2019 through the Federal Skilled Worker Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Class and the Canadian Experience Class Under its Multi-Year Immigration Levels Plan.
