In a news release issued March 12, 2019, the Government of Canada announced that this year, the entry of additional 2000 temporary foreign workers as permanent residents could be possible in Canada through different Provincial Nomination Programs (PNPs).

The increase targets the labour vulnerabilities, and with this Canada is expecting a total of around 61,000 admissions for different PNPs in 2019, which would mark the gain of 6,000 admissions in 2018.

So, all temporary foreign workers who have been working in Canada for a long term with intermediate skills classified as National Occupation Code ‘C’ are eligible to apply for Canadian PR under these additional 2000 spaces.
