New Express Entry Draw Issued Invitations At One Point Lower CRS Score
On September 18, 2019, the Federal government of Canada issued 3,600 invitations to Express Entry candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence. After the draw, the total number of ITAs issued so far this year has reached 63,400.
Federal express entry program is one of the most popular immigration programs to manage the applications of skilled workers of different nationalities. It has three sub-categories which include Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class. It is a point-based immigration system which evaluates profiles on credentials like age, education, work experience and language proficiency. Moreover, the job offer is not mandatory for an applicant to become eligible for the Express entry system.
In the last draw held on September 4, 2019, the minimum cut-off was 463; however, in this draw, the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score for today’s draw dropped to 462.
Generally, draws occur every two weeks. The increase or decrease of a minimum cut-off depends on the time gap between two consecutive draws. On increasing the time-gap between the draws, the Express Entry pool receives more number of applications from higher-scoring candidates which ultimately leads to the higher cut-off score in the coming draws.
The tie-break used in today’s draw by IRCC was August 29, 2019, at 07:57:13 UTC. It means that all those candidates who received at least CRS score of 462 and entered their profile in the Express Entry pool before the tie-break date and time are eligible to receive an ITA through the draw.
This larger draw size reflects the higher admissions targets for both 2019 and 2020. So this is the right time to apply for PR through the Express entry system. If you want to consider your profile for Express Entry pool, you need to first check your eligibility. On being eligible, create your profile for Express Entry pool.
Based on factors like age, work experience, education, proficiency in English or French, connections in Canada and more, your profile gets CRS score. In case you don’t get sufficient score for EE draw, then you can apply to express entry-linked Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Nominated candidates are awarded with an additional 600 points in their EE score and move them to the front of the line for an ITA.
In the recent weeks, Express Entry-linked PNPs of Alberta, Manitoba, Nova Scotia have invited Express Entry candidates to apply for a provincial nomination. The Alberta Express Entry Stream draw on August 28 is a leading example for inviting Express Entry candidates with scores as low as 400.
