New Express Entry draw issued invitations with 5 points lower CRS score
On June 12, 2019, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) released new Express Entry draw in which it issued 3,350 invitations to immigration candidates to apply for Canadian permanent residence. Federal express entry program manages the applications for its three economic immigration categories – Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class to bring a large number of eligible foreign nationals who can contribute in the growth of the country with their skills and experience. After this draw, the total number of Invitations to apply (ITAs) reached 38,450 so far in 2019. The total is 6,250 more than the number of ITAs issued at the same point in the previous year, 2018.
The fact in the coming years, the number will increase many folds under Canada’s three immigration plan (2019-2021). The government is aiming to attract higher admissions in 2019 and 2020 for all three programs managed by the Federal Express Entry system.
So, all interested candidates first need to create a profile in express entry pool where they need to provide information on age, education background, work experience, funds, proficiency in English or French, connections in Canada and more. Based on the responses, the immigration authority evaluates each profile against others in the pool and issues CRS score and rank to them. Only higher-scoring candidates receive an invitation to apply (ITA) through express entry draws.
In general, after every fifteen days or two weeks, express entry draws held. The increase and decrease in the time gap between two consecutive draws influence the cut-off score of the draws. In the draw held on June 12, the minimum cut-off score was 465, which was five-point lower than the previous draw’s minimum score of 470.
The previous Express entry draw which held on May 29, 2019, released after the time gap of four weeks between all-programs draw. As a result, a large number of candidates with higher CRS score entered in the express entry pool and Cut-off reached 470.
However, this draw released just after two weeks of the previous invitation round held on May 29, so as a result, minimum cut-off reduced by five points. Below is the graph showing the relation of the time gap with minimum CRS score.
In addition to this, Moreover, the tie-break used in today’s draw by IRCC was June 06, 2019, at 13:51:59 UTC. It means that all those candidates who received at least CRS score of 465 and entered their profile in the Express Entry pool before this mentioned date and time are eligible to receive an ITA through the draw.
