New Manitoba’s draw issued invites to skilled workers and international graduates
On May 23, 2019, Manitoba’s draw issued 196 invites to skilled workers and international graduates to apply for provincial nominations for Canadian Permanent residence. After the draw, the total number of invitations through Manitoba’s draw has reached 4,320 so far in 2019. Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is one of the most popular immigration programs which manage applications from immigration candidates having skills and experience. Since its introduction in 1988, it has brought more than 130,000 immigrants to settle in the province.
In the draw, 119 letters of advice to apply (LAAs) went to Skilled Workers in Manitoba immigration stream, 60 went to candidates of Skilled Workers Overseas stream and rest 17 issued to international graduates through its International Education Stream.
Of 196 LAAs issued, MPNP issued 27 LAAs to candidates in Express Entry pool having a job seeker validation code and work experience in an occupation listed in Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations List.
Express Entry system has three sub-categories including Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) through which it selects the eligible candidates for immigration. Candidates receive provincial nomination get an additional 600 points towards Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score.
The Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream brings applications from those temporary foreign workers and international graduates who are currently working in the province or have a job offer for a permanent, full-time job from a Manitoba employer.
The Skilled Workers Overseas Stream is open to those immigration candidates who are living outside Canada; however, have connections in Manitoba like family members, friends or possess some previous education or work experience in Manitoba. In addition to this, selection for this stream can be made on an invitation through MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives. In the draw held on May 23, all 60 nominated candidates of Skilled Workers Overseas stream received invitations directly through a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

It requires information about education, previous work experience, proficiency in English or French, connections in Manitoba and more. Based on your response, you get the CRS score in Manitoba’s EOI pool.
In the previous draw of MPNP, the lowest score for skilled workers in Manitoba stream was 569; however, in the draw held on May 23, 2019, it dropped down to 548 only. Similarly, the lowest score for the skilled worker overseas stream was 616; whereas, for this latest draw, it dropped down to 506.
