New Nova Scotia Express Entry draw invites 204 Express Entry candidates
On September 4, 2019, Nova Scotia issued invites to 204 Express Entry Candidates for nomination for Canadian PR through its most popular Labor Market Priorities immigration stream. This draw has been the fourth draw so far in 2019 and the first one since June 03.
The Canadian province Nova Scotia operates its Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) to nominate eligible prospects with appropriate skills and work experience for Canadian permanent residence. Till date, NSNP has eight immigration pathways to meet the needs of the province’s market. In the previous year, it successfully marked a record for the entry of immigrants as new permanent residents in the province.
Labor Market Priorities Stream is an express entry linked immigration program which allows the province to nominate the eligible candidates from federal Express Entry pool for measuring up the shortage of labor in the market. Federal Express Entry system manages the pool for applications coming from its three economic immigration categories including Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.
In general, only 3-4 % population of Nova Scotia list French as their mother tongue so, in this draw, invitations went to only those eligible Express Entry Candidates, having French as their first official language.
Requirements for selected candidates in NSNP’s Express Entry Draw on September 4:
- A minimum of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 8 in all French abilities including writing, reading, speaking and reading
- CLB level 6 or higher in all four English abilities is necessary to become eligible for an invite
- Either a valid three-year or more bachelor’s degree or program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute
- There was no minimum Comprehensive Ranking System(CRS) score requirement
So, all those who have registered in Express Entry and received the letter of interest, need to submit a complete application for a provincial nomination from Nova Scotia. Based on selection factors like age, education, skilled work experience and proficiency in English or French, candidates are awarded with CRS score/rank. Higher scoring candidates receive provincial nominations through draws which add additional 600 points in their Express Entry score.
