Ontario invites Express Entry candidates in Skilled Trades Program
361 invitations issued in March 21 draw, bringing 2019 Skilled Trades Stream total to 732
On March 21, 2019, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) issued new invitations to 361 Express Entry Candidates to apply for provincial nomination for permanent residence in Canada through its New Skilled Trades Stream Draw. With this Draw, the total number of invitations to Express Entry candidates through Skilled Trades Stream is around 732 in 2019.
This draw considered only those eligible candidates who have registered their profiles in Express entry pool between March 21, 2018, and March 21, 2019.
So, if you want your profile to be considered for provincial nomination for permanent residence through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, then you first need to enter your profile in Federal Express Entry Program.
Requirements for provincial nominations through Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP):
- Candidates must have profiles in IRCC’s Express Entry system along with a language test, Education credential assessment (ECA) (if he/she completed education outside Canada)
- He/she must have at least one-year work experience for a full-time paid job or the equivalent in paid job part-time work in Ontario in a skilled trade that is listed in Minor Group 633 or Major Groups 72, 73 or 82 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC)
- He/she must be living in Ontario and possess a valid work permit at the time of filing application
Note: Job offer is not mandatory at the time of applying for Skilled Trades Stream
All invitees who get nominated for Canadian PR through OINP’s Skilled Trades Stream receive an additional 600 points towards their Express Entry score.
