PEI holds a New EOI Draw for its Economic Class Immigration Categories
On February 20, 2020, the Canadian province Prince Edward Island (PEI) released its first draw of the year. It issued invitations to 153 candidates in its Express Entry, Labour Impact and Business Impact immigration categories.
Of which, a total of 143 invitations went to candidates of PEI’s Express entry and Labor impact sub-categories. Remaining 10 invitations went to candidates to PEI’s Business Impact: Work Permit Stream
Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) is one of the most active PNPs in Canada which boost up the population and helps to meet the shortage of labor in the province. PEI’s Express entry is linked to Federal express entry program which manages applications for three principal immigration categories including, Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class. Express entry candidates who receive nomination through PEI or any other Canadian province receive an additional 600 points towards their Express entry CRS score.
However, it is mandatory for express entry candidates to submit a separate Expression of Interest (EOI) to the province to be considered for a nomination. Based on selection factors of unique PEI’s point grid like education, work experience and proficiency in English or French, applicants receive score/ rank in the pool of candidates. And, the highest-ranked candidates get invitations to apply for a provincial nomination through monthly draws.
The Labour Impact Category manages applications of foreign nationals having a valid job offer in PEI. It has three immigration sub-streams: Skilled Worker, Critical Worker, and International Graduate.
PEI’s Business Impact: Work Permit Stream manages Expression of Interest (EOI) from eligible foreign entrepreneurs with business ownership or previous management experience in running a business. Moreover, they must be willing to invest in and run a business in the province.
Selected candidates receive a letter of support from the province, and then they can apply for a temporary work permit from Canada’s federal government.
In today’s draw, a minimum score on the program’s points system, under the Work Permit Stream was 122.
So, if you are interested in PEI PNP, then you need to register an Expression of Interest or EOI for any category of PEI’s immigrant nominee program, the PEI PNP after fulfilling the eligibility criteria. EOI profiles are ranked according to PEI’s unique point’s grid and only highest-ranked profiles are invited to apply through regular draws.
