Prince Edward Island invited 104 new immigration candidates
On May 16, 2019, Prince Edward Island (PEI) invited 104 candidates through its Express Entry, Labor Impact and Business Impact immigration streams to apply for the province’s nomination. Out of total invitations issued, 90 invites went to candidates who have registered in Express entry and Labor Impact Category. Rest 14 PEI’s invites went to candidates of Business impact immigration stream.
The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) aims at the entry of only economic immigration candidates who meet the demands of the province’s local labor market. Moreover, Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP) includes PEI, and it is playing a key role in promoting employment in the region.
PEI’s Express Entry Category is Federal Express Entry system-linked immigration stream which manages candidacy for three economic categories including Federal Skilled Worker Class, Federal Skilled Trades Class and Canadian Experience Class.
So, if you are interested in PEI’s Express Entry, then you need to register a separate Expression of Interest (EOI) in the PEI PNP’s EOI pool. Based on selection factors like level of education, skilled work experience, proficiency in English or French, and more your profile receive Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score out of 100-point assessment table. Higher-scoring candidates receive invitations to apply for provincial nominations through regular PEI’s draws.
Most importantly, under PEI’s Express entry, candidates don’t need to have a job offer from a Canadian employer to become eligible for the program; however, candidates who are living and working there get priority over others, who don’t.
The Labor Impact Category includes three immigration streams- Skilled Worker, Critical Worker and International Graduate. Candidates must have a valid job offer in full-time, long-term occupation from the employer in the province to be eligible for this category.
PEI’s Business Impact: Work Permit Stream brings applications from foreign entrepreneurs, having any business ownership or eligible management experience so that they would invest or run a business in PEI. It also operates on Expression of Interest. The cut-off for business impact category in the draw was 107, which is lower than previous PEI’s draw. Approved profiles need to obtain a temporary work permit to operate the business there, and once they fulfill the conditions of the performance agreement of PEI, they may apply for Canadian PR.
According to reports, PEI’s next Expression of Interest (EOI) draw is expected to release on June 20, 2019. So, for further information, keep in contact with experts of countrywide visas.
