Quebec issued Details of the October 23 and October 29 draws under QSWP
The government of the province of Quebec provided details on its latest draws held on October 23 and October 29 in which it issued 89 and 73 invitations to immigration candidates to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de sélection du Québec, or CSQ) respectively. Since July 04, it has issued around 1,757 invitations through Arrima portal.
In September 2018, the Arrima immigration application management system was introduced to manage the Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles for the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP). The introduction of Arrima replaced the first-come-first-served approach which often led to the acceptance of ineligible applications to the QSWP.
Under the new EOI system, the goal is to ease the entry of only eligible immigration candidates to fulfill the specific labor needs of employers around the province. For that, interested candidates need to create a profile in Arrima and provide information on factors like age, education, area of training, work experience and French proficiency.
Based on the responses for human capital factors, all profiles under Arrima system are evaluated and scored. Candidates with higher scores or work experience Quebec in-demand occupations to meet labour shortages in the province’s outlying regions are invited to apply for a CSQ.
Invited candidates with a CSQ can apply for Canada PR through Federal immigration ministry. It requires some documents like copy of medical examination and Police Clearance Certificate (PCC).
To be eligible for the invitation through the draw, an applicant must have an Expression of Interest profile under the Arrima system along with a valid job offer. Invitations went to those foreign nationals staying in Quebec and carrying out official duties like diplomats, consular officers, and representatives of an intergovernmental organization there.
