Quebec provided information on its two draws through Arrima system
In September 2018, the Arrima immigration application management system was introduced to manage Expression of Interest (EOI) profiles for the QSWP. It targets to ease the entry of immigration candidates to the specific labor needs of employers around the province. The province has released two draws on July 04, July 17 since the introduction in which it issued 950 invitations to apply for a Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de sélection du Québec, or CSQ).
In the previous recent draw held on July 17, 2019, Quebec invited 259 immigration candidates who meet the following requirements like
- Expression of Interest profile
- A valid job offer
- Working experience in Quebec as diplomats, consular officers, or representatives of an intergovernmental organization such as the United Nations
The Information related to invitation rounds with the second draw from Arrima was updated on the Ministry of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion (MIDI) webpage on August 19
David Cohen, senior partner with the Campbell, Cohen Canadian immigration law firm said, “The Arrima system appears to be picking up momentum and we hope that the Ministère will continue to issue invitations more regularly.”
In the first round of invitation held on July 04, 2019 through Arrima, invitations went to 691 candidates who either had a validated job offer from a Quebec employer or met one of the following conditions:
- Living in the province as a temporary resident at the time of application and had application in the pool of candidates for a Quebec Selection Certificate terminated on June 16, 2019, or
- Working or studying in the province at the time of application and had application for a Quebec Selection Certificate terminated on June 16, 2019,
- Had an Arrima profile and filed an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the Ministère before Dec. 17, 2019
On June 16, 2019, the government of Quebec had brought new reforms to Quebec’s immigration laws in which it cancelled around 16,000 pending applications to the QSWP. All the applications which got cancelled had been filed before the introduction of Arrima.
If you are interested in immigrating to Quebec under its Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) with Arrima profiles, then you first need to submit the Expression of Interest through Arrima. The Ministère evaluates each profile in the bank of EOIs and issues invitations to most appropriate profiles meeting the labour market needs of the province.
